BODMIN CARNIVAL Bodmin hadn’t had a carnival parade for nine years but the event made a grand come-back in flamboyant style in August 2015. Bodmin Carnival Parade is a fantastic not-for-profit event, run by a group of volunteers and has been taking place annually for the last four years, getting bigger and better every summer. The carnival comprises of a procession through the town of floats, marching bands, walking groups and individuals who entertain the audience. |

BODMIN FIREWORK DISPLAY An annual event, hosted by the Joint Fireworks Committee, which takes place at Priory Park in Bodmin on the 5th November. The theme of the display changes every year with recent displays being; 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1, the moon landings, music by John Williams and James Bond themes. The event is family orientated with a fairground, food stalls and the bonfire. Profits from the event are donated to local community groups and charities. |

BODMIN RIDING FESTIVAL Bodmin Riding is an ancient Cornish festival which takes place each year on the first weekend of July. The modern festival is rooted in the unique history of Bodmin town, our Cornish identity, and the community of Bodmin, and aims to celebrate the rich traditions of our ancient Cornish heritage. |

SOWENNA APPEAL Sowenna, Cornwall’s first Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) unit finally opened its doors on 9th September 2019. For the first time, children and young people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will now have access to specialist mental health beds within the county. The Sowenna Appeal helped raise funding to transform the unit from a high quality centre, to the best adolescent mental health unit in the country.

FRIENDS OF PENCARROW Friends of Pencarrow is a charity formed by a dedicated group of people who care about this historic estate’s future and its connection to the community, past and present. The group raise money to enhance the house and grounds. Recent donations have included assisting in the rebuilding of the courtyard walls, the parkland fencing down the back drive and, in the valley, the planting of over a hundred trees including the extension to the monkey puzzle avenue. They also run social events and special interest days connected to Pencarrow. |

LANLIVERY VINTAGE RALLY An Annual Vintage Rally and Country Fair held second weekend in September in spectacular countryside and raising money for local charities. Organised by a committee of volunteers the event has run for over 30 years going from strength to strength and has become a well supported and famous part of the autumn calendar. The rally hosts a huge variety of country events including a large entry of vintage machinery and cars, dancing diggers, wild west shows, family dog show, dog scurry, clay pigeon shooting, ploughing and harvesting with vintage machinery and horses, craft tent, car boot sale, many trade stalls, refreshment and beer tents etc. |
