Bodmin and District Camera Club Competition Rules

Digitally Projected Image (DPI) Competitions.

1. This is a digital image competition only.

2. There will be a ‘SET Category’ and an ‘OPEN Category’ for each competition evening.

3. You may enter up to four images, up to two images into the ‘SET Category’ and up to two images into the ‘OPEN Category’.

4. ‘SET Category’ entries must follow the subject matter for the ‘SET Category’. Should there be any doubt about the suitability, the Competitions Secretary’s decision as to acceptance will be final.

5. An image must not be entered into both the ‘SET category’ and the ‘OPEN category’.

6. Images entered into any previous club competitions may not be entered.

7. All images submitted must be taken within the last two years.

8. The adjustment of images using post-processing software is allowed and actively promoted.

9. Composite images are allowed.

10. All images, including constituents of composites, must be the author’s work.

11. All Images must be in JPEG file format and sRGB colour space.

12. File names must be renamed as follows: -

‘SET Category’ image file names must start with ‘SET–‘ followed by the image title.

‘OPEN Category’ image file names must start with ‘OPEN–‘ followed by the image title.

Example file name: SET–Bodmin Town Hall

Example file name: SET–Sunset over Trevone

Example file name: OPEN–Truro at Night

Example file name: OPEN–Dozmary Pool

13. Images do not need to be resized and should be submitted at the largest resolution available to the author.

14. The author’s name or logo must not be shown on any image.

15. All images must be submitted to the Competitions Secretary by the nominated hand-in date, which will be notified in the club programme. This can be done via: -

iii. https://transfer.pcloud.com/

using the email address ‘competitions@bodmincameraclub.org.uk’, or images can be submitted on a USB stick.

16. Competitions will be independently judged unless otherwise stated.

17. Competition results will be announced on the competition evening.


Printed Image Competitions.

1. This is a printed image competition only.

2. There will be a ‘SET Category’ and an ‘OPEN Category’ for each competition evening.

3. You may enter up to four images, up to two images into the ‘SET Category’ and up to two images into the ‘OPEN Category’.

12. Images may be any size and must be mounted on 500 x 400 mm mount board and have a backing board.

13. Titles and Exif data should be attached to the rear, top right-hand corner of the mounted image to denote orientation.

14. The author’s name or logo must not be shown on any image.

15. All images must be submitted to the Competitions Secretary by the nominated hand-in date, which will be notified in the club programme.

16. All images must have a digital copy submitted to the Competitions Secretary by the nominated hand-in date. This can be done via: -

iii. https://transfer.pcloud.com/

using the email address ‘competitions@bodmincameraclub.org.uk’, or images can be submitted on a USB stick.

17. All copy digital images must be in JPEG file format and sRGB colour space.

18. File names must be renamed as follows: -

‘SET Category’ image file names must start with ‘SET–‘ followed by the image title.

‘OPEN Category’ image file names must start with ‘OPEN–‘ followed by the image title.
